- Mayor Carroll Jones was elected to a second term in office in August 2004
- Brunswick, with its ideal location between the B&O railroad tracks and the C&O canal, was founded in 1890. It is situated on the southwestern edge of the county.
- Town is especially known for its sports teams. The 1986 Brunswick Little League 11-12 All-Star team is the only team ever from Frederick County to advance to the Little League World Series.
